The\u00a0Dublin Coffee & Tea Festival will take place from Friday 11th through to Sunday 13th September in the Industries Hall in the RDS, Dublin. For anyone looking at establishing their own coffee or tea shop, this is a must attend event.<\/p>\n

Looking back over the visitor numbers from 2104 it’s a good event to attend as the numbers, busy as it was, still allow for you to meet and interact with the subject matter experts. You then have ample time to sift through the exhibitor section to get to know more about some of the key items you need for your own enterprise.<\/p>\n

One of these key items to watch out for is the Clover ePOS or electronic point of sale system from the team at Allied Irish Banks Merchant Services. What’s an ePOS system got to do with a coffee and tea show? \u00a0Well, a whole lot in fact. The Clover ePOS costs a fraction of a traditional point of sale system.<\/p>\n

So, when you’re in the early stages of setting up your own coffee house, having an affordable point of sale system allows you to invest more in other areas of the business. Plus, the Clover ePOs is also fully integrated with our online accounting software<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Things to check out at the show:<\/p>\n

The Roaster’s Village<\/strong>
\nNew to coffee and tea then hit this hall first. The ‘roaster’s village’ will give you a great introduction to a wide range of\u00a0range of Coffee and Tea micro roasters and retailers all wishing to engage and tell you their story of their particular blends. The modern coffee and tea house is very attuned to this particular aspect of running a successful business. Customer’s expectations are such that coffee must be served to the highest of standards. As for teas, as wide a range as possible.<\/p>\n

The SCAE Brew School<\/strong>
\nThere will be a purpose-built Brew School allowing you to\u00a0discover brewing methods behind making the perfect coffee. You’ll also be shown how to use different brewing methods such as Aeropress, Chemex \u00a0and Caffitere.<\/p>\n

The Food Village<\/strong>
\nNot as important as the above two but important nonetheless as good food is an essential companion to good coffee. Here you’ll meet artisan food and beverage suppliers whose product compliments the coffee and tea drinking experience. Bakery, chocolate, water, pastry, juices and shakes will all be represented in the Food village.<\/p>\n

National Competitions<\/strong>
\nIrish competitors have fared very well in international competitions and this is where you might see a barista world champion in the making. At the Festival, SCAE will run a number of their national competitions allowing you to view the very best in action over the 3 days.<\/p>\n

Exhibitors Hall<\/strong><\/p>\n

As I mentioned above the exhibitors hall is well worth a visit and I’ve already pointed out Clover. There is close on 80 exhibitors so there is quite an amount to get through. If you’re really keen on the coffee shop enterprise then get to this show early. Take it all in, ask loads of questions and get as much information as you can.<\/p>\n
