I was on the way to meet up with Mark Kavanagh, the winner of our Bank of Ireland Sponsor For A Day competition to join us at the Leinster v Castres match on Saturday 17th January. My navigator – Google Maps – led the way as I was travelling to Bellewstown, about 47 km north of Dublin, a corner of County Meath I’d never visited before.

“At the next crossroads, continue straight for 2.6km, you will reach your destination,” was the last words I needed as the Bellewstown racecourse appeared when I crested the hill and turned right at the aptly titled Hill Bar. Located on the Hill of Crockafotha, Bellewstown racecourse is famed for it’s views of the Mountains of Mourne to the north and the Irish Sea to the east but the misty rain unfortunately put paid to that.

I then made my way to Mark’s stables to congratulate him on his win and to take some pictures for the Big Red Cloud blog and our Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter social media channels. Mark is the owner and manager of Rockview Stables, a busy racehorse training facility for thoroughbreds.

With a healthy consignment of horses in training, Mark and his team are kept busy throughout all twelve-months of the year. I arrived in his yard at the end of a typically busy morning: the horses were being cleaned and washed after their daily workout on the all-weather gallops, in another section, some yearlings were undergoing basic ground work, and down on the gallop itself, one yearling was undergoing a comprehensive health check.

Never missing the opportunity to garner customer feedback I asked Mark why he choose Big Red Cloud. “Simplicity and easy of use plus it’s all in the cloud,” Mark replied. He also added ” I’ve enough on my plate running Rockview so having no hardware or storage issues to concern me is another big plus.”

We look forward to welcoming Mark to the RDS Arena as part of our BOI Sponsor for a Day celebrations on January 17th for what promises to be a memorable occasion.
