It’s hard to believe that the Dublin Web Summit or Web Summit as it’s now branded is only 4 years old. In that short period, the  Web Summit team, led by Paddy Cosgrove, has overseen what can only be described as phenomenal, an increase in attendees from 500 in 2010 to an expected 20,000 plus in 2014. In addition, some 60% of the attendees are flying in from Europe, the US and further afield.

Web Summit concerns itself primarily with topics relating to internet technology with the audience being a blend of CEOs and entrepreneurs or ‘founders’ as they are called in Web Summit circles, and a supporting cast of thousands of technology start ups across almost every industry type.

Not only has there been an explosion in the attendee numbers but the list of international speakers for this year’s summit is truly amazing. Over 650 speakers will grace the various summit stages over the course of the three days the conference will run for, November 4-6.

Web Summit is divided into four main summit stages; Machine, Enterprise, Marketing and Builders. There are 8 other summit streams: Investors, Surf, Sport, Music, Fringe, Food and last but not least, as it’s one of the most popular and one that nearly all attendees take part in, the Night Summit.

Web summit is proving to be more than a technology conference as the Food Summit is bringing close on 400 food producers and chefs from Ireland’s leading restaurants, hotels, pubs, cafés, food shops and cookery schools to showcase the taste and flavour of their food.  The Food Summit Stage will highlight how technology is changing how food is prepared, cooked and manufactured.

At Big Red Cloud, we’ve attended Web Summit in the past but 2014 marks our first time as an exhibitor at the event where we will be promoting the case for online accounting software and encouraging visitors to take up our free trial offer.

On Wednesday we will be on board the Enterprise Ireland stand which is located in Town Square in the Main RDS Arena exhibiting alongside 4 other notable financial services companies; Credibility Technologies, Financial SatNav Ltd, Grid Finance and Hive.

On Thursday we are exhibiting in the Alpha Village along with several hundred other companies and that promises to be a cauldron of creative energy. Please vote for us as the most awesome ALPHA startup at Web Summit 2014!

Web Summit 2014 affords Big Red Cloud the opportunity to network, meet and share ideas with other founders, investors and start ups. So, if you are attending Web Summit 2014 please drop by our stand.

After completing a Graduate program in Marketing, Marc’s impressive sales career began at Allied Irish Banks, Pitney Bowes and Panasonic where he received numerous Irish and European sales performance awards and consistently exceeded targets and expectations. In 1992, Marc’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to set up his own business, Irish International Sales (IIS). Initially, this company was a reseller for Take 5 Accounts and Payroll software.
