Simplicity is something many bookkeepers long for. A clear list of figures that add up nicely and neatly makes the job of bookkeeping that much more efficient and straightforward.

In reality however, many bookkeepers are faced with disorder and confusion on a regular basis. A bookkeeper has to keep track of client accounts from a potentially broad range of professions, each of which may incur a variety of different tax rates and deductibles.

Within each profession, individual clients may have their own system of keeping accounts. Some may keep paper ledgers, some may export or print out spread sheets and of course there is always the occasional shoebox full of receipts.

A Digital Solution?

Computerised accounting software has the potential to make a lot of these problems simpler but it can sometimes cause additional problems for the bookkeeper. One problem is the sheer variety of different programs available.

Each program may keep track of different figures in different ways. A client may have selected an accounting program that is not suited to their business, perhaps it was designed for a different region with different tax codes. It may be missing an essential feature or they may be using software designed for a more complicated business with far more features than they need.

This leads to another problem accounting software can create for bookkeepers. Very often clients treat their accountants as a software support specialist.

Seeking Support

Many accounting software vendors do not supply adequate support to their customers or have an additional charge for it. When this happens clients turn to their accountant to ask them how to operate the software or input data.

Software support is not the job of an accountant and only adds to their workload. A simple straightforward platform that provides clear access for accountants and includes proper support services is what bookkeepers really need. Is that so much to ask?

The Ideal Solution

Big Red Cloud don’t think so. They provide an online, cloud based accounting solution with unlimited user access as well as free support services that can be accessed via email, live chat and by phone with representatives speaking clean and simple language that can be understood by anyone.

One of the best features for bookkeepers is the unlimited user access. This means clients using Big Red Cloud can give accountants direct access to their accounts as they are recorded in the cloud for free.

See What They See

Accountants can see up to date figures exactly as the client has entered them in the system. This means no more emails of different files with different names in different formats just clear, direct access to the same figures the client sees.

Big Red Cloud’s interface is designed to be as simple and straightforward to use as possible. This results in fewer errors made by clients as they add figures and when they do its easier for accountants to spot them.

It also means clients are less likely to have difficulties or questions about the system but when they do they don’t need to call their accountant for help.

Big Red Cloud provides free, unlimited support through voice, live chat or email and their website includes a range of clear, comprehensive how-to videos to guide people through some of the many tasks they can carry out with Big Red Cloud.
